Project Beneficiaries:
Children with mental disturbances, developmental disorders or defects

Challenges in the beneficiary community:
- Very high rate of students with learning difficulties
- Parents with children under 6 years old in Duc Linh district, Binh Thuan province lack knowledge in identifying and early detecting differences of children in the development process, no child support skills after medical intervention. Plus, they cannot access timely detection and intervention support services; and there is no awareness of the importance of early intervention.
- Children reaching primary school age then have problems integrating.
- In addition, there are many cases outside the community that the project has not had the opportunity to detect.

Project activities:
- Communication to improve knowledge for the community.
- Capacity building for project staff and related partners.
- Child intervention at the center.

Long-term goal:
Children with developmental disorders including hearing impairment, autism spectrum disorder, language disorder and learning difficulties under 6 years old in kindergartens in Duc Linh district, Binh Thuan province are supported with community-based integration.

Short-term goal:
- Community includes teachers, parents, partners, staff, collaborators with increased capacity in knowledge and skills to detect and intervene when children show signs of developlmental delay.
- Children participating in learning at centers and the community receive timely intervention to increase their ability to integrate.
