Project Beneficiaries:
- 400 students with difficult circumstances
- 30 teachers & collaborators in the school
Challenges in the beneficiary community:
The current general school does not have a bookcase/reading area for students to read and entertain themselves. In addition, migrant students with difficult economic circumstances often begin their educations later than peers and often have lower academic capacity. They often are disinterested in learning because of their livelihoods.
Project activities:
- Make bookshelves
- Buy & return books
- Wrap books & arrange books on shelves
- Update book preservation files, create books to borrow books
- Notice the rules of reading
- Open bookcases for students & teachers
- Organizing the contest "Ring the golden bell"
- Book statistics & Add book titles
Long-term goal:
The school bookcase can be essential for the school to diversify activities and encourage learning. The bookcase is the starter to arouse passion for reading, learning and discovering knowledge. In addition, books also help children relax and provide entertainment.
