2. Project proposal:
Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Cần Thơ, Bình Dương
Implementation period: 1 Oct 2021 - 30 Sep 2022
Issue focus: SDG 3: Good health and well-being
Project Beneficiaries:
Over 1000 patients, families, or healthy people in the community with an interest in cancer, wanting to have correct information about cancer, and have the enthusiasm to help the community fight against false information and access to appropriate resources when facing cancer.

Challenges in the beneficiary community:
- When receiving bad news about cancer, patients and their families usually get scared and anxious. Doctors in Vietnam rarely explain in detail the disease and treatment methods, so patients and families usually have to search on the Internet or consult their network, which can lead to false information that can be life-threatening or affect the quality of life of the patient. Many patients regretfully miss the better treatment because of fake news.
- For healthy people, receiving false information can also lead to unnecessary screening for cancer, overdiagnosis or overtreatment of cancer.
Prejudice towards cancer patients is also a problem in the community that can further isolate the patient.

Project activities:
Survey knowledge gaps about cancer and build lesson plans.
Discussion with lecturers about necessary knowledge to deliver to
the volunteers.
Online classes and Offline classes about cancer
Offer tests for basic knowledge about cancer

Long term goal:
Increase the number of people with a correct understanding of cancer
through a network of activities by Y học Cộng đồng organization
(website, fan pages, classes for patient advocates and other events)

Short term goal:
- Increase the number of people with understanding about cancer in the community
- Increase the number of supporters for patients and their beloved
(guideline to correct information and resources in the community)
- Increase the number of classes about cancer in the community
