2. Project proposal:
Location: Cà Mau
Implementation period: 15 July 2021 - 30 June 2022
Issue focus:
- SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation
- SDG 13: Climate action
- SDG 3: Good health and well-being
Project Beneficiaries:
200 households with 750 people at Tân Hòa Hamlet with 450 students in vicinity hamlets.

Challenges in the beneficiary community:
- Are heavily affected by soil salinity and alum contamination in the past years. In the coming years, climate change would lead to deep salinity penetration which will make life even harder.
- Lack of clean water in prolonged droughts.
- Spontaneous drilled wells cannot ensure water quality and pose a potential risk of contaminating groundwater.
- Socioeconomic situation is not developed.
- Low local budget.
- Expensive drinking water for each household at 12,000đ/20 litres.

Project activities:
Build a concentrated clean water station, maintaining sanitation, preserving the environment, and save daily expenses costs for households in Tân Hòa Hamlet. Size of drilled well: 240m, 1m platform, 5,000 litter intermediate basin, 2 intermediate pumps, and a 4,280m piping system.
Long term goal:
- Improve quality of life for local people at Tân Hòa Hamlet, Phong Điền Ward, Trần Văn Thời District, Cà Mau Province
- Enhance awareness about protecting the environment.
- Encourage local economic and social development and help a new countryside in the coming years.

Short term goal:
- Provide a stable source of clean water for 100 households and 2 schools at the site of the project.
- Limit the number of spontaneous drilled wells not complying with the planning and not ensuring water quality
- Encourage the local people to voice their concerns
- Create unity in the community to build a better country.
